September (2019) Phone Dump

I got to go with Julia for her trial run appointment for her wedding hair/makeup

Sometimes at night, Bentley gathers all of his belongings and brings them up onto the couch. This reminds me so much of Lea-- she was quite the hoarder.

Found this (likely venomous) snake while I was weed-eating the yard.
Nope. Nope. Nope.

I got to see Fern one more time.

August (2019) Phone Dump

Aunt Melissa sent these fun hanging/swinging seats to the boys :)

The boys' first day of school!

Fourth Grade

Second Grade

Daniel and the boys playing outside. With Felix looking on.

The boys started riding the bus this year. They had been begging to ride the bus for years. The pets and I are quite the circus when we go to meet the bus.

Bentley and Felix.

Amy and Eli came to visit and this is the only picture I have-- so sad! The boys loved having Eli here and it was so good to get to catch up with Amy :)

Julia's Wedding Shower (August 2019)

After leaving the beach, Daniel and the boys headed home, and I headed to Virginia to Lyle's and Melissa's house to meet up with the rest of the family to have a wedding shower for Julia and Nathan!

It was a quick visit, but so good to be together for such a fun reason. Melissa did a great job setting everything up for the shower. Despite many, many offers to help, she really did the bulk of the work on her own.

I hope Julia felt loved and celebrated that day!

Family dinners are big and chaotic.

Family Vacation at the Beach!! (2019)

It isn't often that we spend focused time just the four of us. Not at home, and rarely do we get to take a trip that is just us. We often go to visit family (which we love), and a few times we have vacationed with friends (we also love this), but I really loved getting a few days at the beach last summer that was just our immediate family. We headed back to Hilton Head again and we loved it just as much this time 😊

I'm kind of hit or miss with beach trips. In theory, I love going to the beach. In practice, I find it very very hot and sticky and sandy. I don't love to be hot. Or to sweat. Or to be dirty. So you see my problem. August at the beach is hard-- even the water is so warm. But there were a lot of really good parts of this trip-- and getting to spend time with these boys of mine is always a win for me.

Vacationing with them is probably my absolute favorite thing to do. I like to be home too. But, I love taking the boys places-- new places, and repeating old places and building memories. I love it.
