October Phone Dump

Fall is my favorite.

Carver's 4th Fun Run! (So darn cute holding that flag, even though he tucked in his t-shirt and his shorts are pulled up way high...reason unknown, but this is not how he left the house that morning, I promise).

This kid LOVES to run. This is one of the highlights of his school year.

Walking the dog, Felix comes flying out of the bushes with a live snake in his mouth. No. No. No.

Then, later the same day, he finds another snake and wanders around with it. NO NO NO. Bad kitty.

Carver's landforms diorama. I was so proud of how hard he worked and I think it turned out great.

On a field trip. (Not gonna lie, this field trip was painfully boring. I was dying. DYING.)

Celebrating Daddy's birthday at "the fancy place." (It's a Brazilian steakhouse. The boys love it so much)

Dress up day at Awana.

Carson's field trip to the Vance Birthplace.

Family book club!

Felix went missing for THIRTY-SIX hours. I was convinced he was gone forever because I knew he would have come home if he was able to. Turns out he was stranded on a neighbor's roof. I just happened to hear him meowing when I was out walking Bentley-- in the same area I had been looking for Felix all this time. I was praying so hard that he would be found and this was a total act of God and I am so grateful. We love this cat so much.

When the boys got home from school they were so relieved that Felix was back!

Bentley loves and adores Felix.

Halloween lunch. I will be so sad when they are too old to think themed lunches are cool.

Character dress-up day at school. And I am pretty sure that he has now worn this "costume" three times.

Character dress-up day for Carver too-- he was Jack from the Magic Treehouse series.

Halloween Gingerbread House.

Dinner and trick-or-treating with friends! One of my favorite nights of the year.

Our first ever attempt at a whole-family themed halloween. We were Marvel characters.

Trying to get a picture of Bentley in his Marvel shirt...

it was hard...

very hard...

Success! Kind of.

Carver wanted in on the puppy pics.

When Grandmama Comes to Visit...

In October, mom came to visit for about 3 weeks and we, as always, stayed busy. The boys love love love when Grandmama comes. And, let's be honest, my life is quite a bit easier when she is here too. It's like having another parent and play mate around for the boys. She provides them undivided, focused attention, she gets in the car line almost 2 hours early every day so she is at the front of the line to pick them up (they beg her and there is NO WAY I will do that, sorry boys), she helps with homework and getting us out the door in the morning. Plus we plan outings and such to keep us entertained. It was a really fun part of the month.

No visit is complete without  a Friday night trip to the Grove Park Inn for dinner. I love it.

Basically my whole world in one small picture. I never imagined a love like this until I had these two.

Courtney, Julia, and Nathan also popped in for a quick visit to check out wedding venues.
So. Much. Fun.

Mom took Carson to the fire department open house and Ande was there too!

Fall fun :)

In a perfect world, mom and dad would have a second home up here and come as often as possible but still have the old homestead in Bartow for us to visit. Because I love and adore taking the boys down there and making sure that Bartow and our family home there is a part of their childhood. But, goodness, life is easier (and more fun) when my mama is in town :)
