February Phone Dump

Hanging out with Creed.

New haircut!

New addiction.

Hanging out with the dogs at the Conference Center.

Movie time-- we saw Sonic the Hedgehog-- they LOVED it.

A little lunch prepping.

I damaged my eye. Still unknown cause, but its fine now.

Biltmore Estate!

Snack board for Connect Group. This was a spin on Lunchables-- we were doing a "food from your childhood" theme for that week.

My parents came to visit! I didn't get many pictures. They took the boys to Mountain Play Lodge and the boys had the best time! They talked and talked about how much fun they had. We so love it when they visit.

Later that week Carver ended up with a fever (and no other symptoms ) so he had to miss dinner at the Grove Park Inn. He was so pitiful-- he rarely gets sick so this was unusual.

Weekend Trip with my Georgia Girls

At the beginning of February I headed to Georgia to meet up with Amy, Tiffany, and Jaime for a weekend in Atlanta.

Leaving my group of friends was definitely the hardest part about moving from Georgia back to North Carolina back in 2014. These girls were so important to me and we just rarely get to see each other.

We had so much fun. We ate good food, went to an improv comedy show, walked around Ponce City Market and talked. And talked and talked.

I hope we can make this a regular thing-- a get together every few years would be so good for my soul.

My Favorite Tradition EVER

Several years ago, Carver started asking for the two of us to go and stay in a hotel for the night. Just the two of us, for his birthday. We did it for his 7th birthday and we had the best time.

He has wanted to do it every year since then and I just hadn't made it happen. But this was a big birthday and I was determined that we would do it again this year.

Over the Christmas break, Carver and I headed out for his birthday hotel trip. We first went to check in at the hotel, then we headed to Chuck E. Cheese for dinner and playing.

On the way back to the hotel we stopped and got milkshakes at Cook-out and then we got ready to swim! The indoor pool is really the big favorite part of this whole excursion. Wearing a bathing suit in winter is most definitely not my favorite thing. But we had a great time playing in the pool.

After some swimming we headed back up to the room and we stayed up until almost midnight. Crazy, right? But this was my very favorite part of the short trip. We were watching t.v. and talking and playing on our devices and snuggling in the bed. It was the absolute perfect end to the night.

The next morning we had breakfast at the hotel and then headed home.

It was one of the best nights of my life. I hope to keep doing this with Carver, at least a few more times, and to start up this tradition with Carson.
