Pirate Day!

After keeping Roxy for a couple of weeks, the boys and I headed to Lyle's house to take her back and spend some time with the cousins. I had been planning to have a Pirate-themed day with the boys so I decided to just take everything along and do it with the cousins too. It was a lot more work (and a greater expense) than I anticipated, but I think it really was a lot of fun for them.

I ended up with enough Pirate activities to keep everyone entertained for pretty much the whole day-- success!

Heading out of town. Carver loves Roxy.

Breakfast and pirate gear.

Coloring masks.

Painting treasure boxes.

Game time-- knock over the cups with random pirate rubber duckies...

Pirate Bingo!

Pumpkin pirate man.

Lunch time!!

This did not turn out well.

Hunting for gold coins.

Coloring treasure maps.

The whole pirate crew :)

Note: birthday party supplies and Oriental Trading are really good options for planning themed days. Cheap items in large quantities. Pinterest and google searches led me to most of these ideas.
