Plans to head to Florida over the summer started months earlier. I always look forward to Florida trips and the boys were crazy excited. Then life got difficult, we were trying to set a date to close on the house in Black Mountain and it looked like we might not make it down to Florida. BUT, that wasn't acceptable to me or the boys so we made a relatively spontaneous (and too short) trip down in July. The drive down to Bartow and then again back home were really hard this time. I was by myself and the boys were good, but the hours were long and traffic/weather was miserable on the return trip. I'm pretty sure that next time I will either fly or make it a 2-day trip. It was worth it though-- the week in Florida was just what we needed.
