Carson- 2 Months

For my entire pregnancy I was convinced that we (the boys and I) would not survive the summer. Carson's due date was terrible timing with camp and such, yet here we are-- the summer is coming to an end and Carson is two months old!

Stats:
Weight: 13.12 lbs/ 90th percentile
Height: 23.5 in/75th percentile

This last month has brought a lot of changes for Carson. He has, finally, relaxed some and lets me put him down occasionally. He likes to sit in his swing, or lay in our bed, or occasionally sit in his bouncy seat. Though he still prefers to be held.

Jenny visited last week and came bearing gifts! One of which was this great Moby wrap. We love it!

Just look at that cute face! (Carson's, not mine)

He LOVES his pacifiers.

He eats every 3 hours usually-- a stretch from the first month or so when he was eating every 1.5 to 2 hours.

First bottle-- 6 weeks old. He did great!

He is less violently opposed to baths and diaper changes.

He smiles!

He is very alert, holds his head up, and really likes to look around.

He loves to sit outside.

He is trying really hard to roll over.

He has a slight receding hair line...

He goes from calm to hysterical in about 0.5 seconds.

I feel like we are starting to get to a good place, beginning to figure out how to handle all of the changes and stresses that come with a new baby. Carson starting to calm down some has vastly improved our days. Carver has, for the most part, been very sweet to him. He brings him pacifiers and tries to stuff them in his mouth. He pets him on the head and says, "aw sweet." In the mornings he usually gets in my bed and lays down for awhile with Carson. Watching them together is already one of my very favorite things.

We have overcome some challenges and are waiting for the next ones to arrive. It nothing else, things are never boring around here.

I know it goes without saying, but I really wish Delia wasn't missing from this picture.

July Phone Dump

I take a lot of pictures with my phone.

Like, A LOT of pictures with my phone. Since they don't always fit in with a particular blog post I thought I would just dump them here.

They are way too cute not to share :)

We went back to the Museum with Grandmama

The sweet boy slept the whole time :)

We played outside with Julia and a hose-- Carver was in heaven.

We went to the mall and had an impromptu play time in the fountains.

Carver got a new 'do

Hard to see in this pic but it is short and spiked. Getting this cut was a nightmare and involved screaming, crying, hitting, and eventually be held down by me. Not one of my prouder moments.

We went to a closing program at camp and were banished outside because Carver was, well, awful.

A little brother bonding time.

One of my favorites-- Jules is great with Carson.

We went for a walk at the park so I could burn a few calories.

We used the new BOB stroller for both boys for the first time-- thanks Mama!
Perfect little spot of Lea too-- she loved it! And Carver loved my decaf latte.

Random play time with ice cubes on the deck.

Bath time fun-- one of Carver's favorite parts of the day.

Carver taking care of the plants.

Night time quiet time with Lea. She helped Jules with her laundry.
Carson and I spend A LOT of time sitting on the front porch watching Carver play in the yard.

We're working on getting dressed on his own... work in progress.

We have had a fun, full month! It's been chaotic and stressful and frustrating and involved a lot of moments I am none too proud of (like losing it with the firstborn-- a lot), but we survived! The boys are both in one piece and I have a hold on my sanity still so all in all I would say it was a successful summer :)

Quality time with Nana and Papa

I have been oh so lucky to have so much help these last two months. The boys have loved spending time with Nana and Papa (and Grandmama) over these last weeks. I'm pretty sure Carver would have destroyed the house and my sanity if they weren't around to take him to the park and play with him at the house. These boys are so blessed to have two incredible sets of grandparents who absolutely adore them.
