Early last Fall Carson decided that he was a die-hard Panthers fan. And like any good mom who knows nothing about sports, I googled "panthers," determined that they were a team based in Charlotte (probably should have known that) and that they play football. So, despite have zero interest in most sports, and definitely in the NFL, I am now a sort of Panthers fan also, along with the rest of our family. Sometimes cute little 6 year old boys can hold quite a bit of power.
In September we were gifted with 4 tickets to a game from someone Daniel works with and we knew we had to go. It ended up being quite the adventurous day, but we had the
best time.
We headed to Daniel's parent's house the night before the game so that we would be a bit closer to Charlotte for the game. On the way to the game we ended up getting into a multi-car accident on the interstate (no injuries) but that slowed us down quite a bit and we missed a lot of the pre-game activities we were planning to do. But we made it to the game before kick-off!
Carson and Daniel were definitely
all in to watching the game. Carver and I got a little bored and needed to wander a bit so we walked around some and had some snacks and found some souvenirs :)
Carson didn't want to miss a minute of the game. So cute.
It was
crazy hot that day and our seats were pretty high up and I am apparently super out of shape. I really wanted to take rest breaks while walking up the steep stairs but pride had me trudging along. As we were leaving the game Carver was leading the way and he stumbled on the stairs and a nice man with fast reflexes pretty much saved his life (thank you Mr. Stranger). He got a little banged up but it could have been so. much worse. And we had a pretty long trek back to the car so for a lot of reasons I am super thankful that the injuries were not worse.
All in all it was just a really fun family day. Carson declared it his "best day ever!" and my heart was pretty full at the end of the day too.
