When Grandmama Comes to Visit...

In October, mom came to visit for about 3 weeks and we, as always, stayed busy. The boys love love love when Grandmama comes. And, let's be honest, my life is quite a bit easier when she is here too. It's like having another parent and play mate around for the boys. She provides them undivided, focused attention, she gets in the car line almost 2 hours early every day so she is at the front of the line to pick them up (they beg her and there is NO WAY I will do that, sorry boys), she helps with homework and getting us out the door in the morning. Plus we plan outings and such to keep us entertained. It was a really fun part of the month.

No visit is complete without  a Friday night trip to the Grove Park Inn for dinner. I love it.

Basically my whole world in one small picture. I never imagined a love like this until I had these two.

Courtney, Julia, and Nathan also popped in for a quick visit to check out wedding venues.
So. Much. Fun.

Mom took Carson to the fire department open house and Ande was there too!

Fall fun :)

In a perfect world, mom and dad would have a second home up here and come as often as possible but still have the old homestead in Bartow for us to visit. Because I love and adore taking the boys down there and making sure that Bartow and our family home there is a part of their childhood. But, goodness, life is easier (and more fun) when my mama is in town :)

September Phone Dump

Yep. Every day. I don't do mornings well.
In early September, Megan, Richie and Maggie came for a visit! We had such a fun weekend. Maggie is chatty and adorable and she and Carson became sweet friends very quickly. First up was an Asheville Tourists game!

We played at camp for a bit.

Look at sweet Maggie! I can't wait until they come again :)

Bentley and Carver have quite a bond.

Waiting in the car line. He's a good companion for that boring task.

Julia and Nathan are engaged!!

Movies are our favorite.

Soccer Saturdays.

Dinner after soccer-- Rocky's Hot Chicken Shack.

Panthers Game with the Fam!

Early last Fall Carson decided that he was a die-hard Panthers fan. And like any good mom who knows nothing about sports, I googled "panthers," determined that they were a team based in Charlotte (probably should have known that) and that they play football. So, despite have zero interest in most sports, and definitely in the NFL, I am now a sort of Panthers fan also, along with the rest of our family. Sometimes cute little 6 year old boys can hold quite a bit of power.

In September we were gifted with 4 tickets to a game from someone Daniel works with and we knew  we had to go. It ended up being quite the adventurous day, but we had the best time.

We headed to Daniel's parent's house the night before the game so that we would be a bit closer to Charlotte for the game. On the way to the game we ended up getting into a multi-car accident on the interstate (no injuries) but that slowed us down quite a bit and we missed a lot of the pre-game activities we were planning to do. But we made it to the game before kick-off!

Carson and Daniel were definitely all in to watching the game. Carver and I got a little bored and needed to wander a bit so we walked around some and had some snacks and found some souvenirs :)

Carson didn't want to miss a minute of the game. So cute.

It was crazy hot that day and our seats were pretty high up and I am apparently super out of shape. I really wanted to take rest breaks while walking up the steep stairs but pride had me trudging along. As we were leaving the game Carver was leading the way and he stumbled on the stairs and a nice man with fast reflexes pretty much saved his life (thank you Mr. Stranger). He got a little banged up but it could have been so. much worse. And we had a pretty long trek back to the car so for a lot of reasons I am super thankful that the injuries were not worse.

All in all it was just a really fun family day. Carson declared it his "best day ever!" and my heart was pretty full at the end of the day too.
