The gifts: I always do a book, candy, and 1 toy. Usually a small toy. But these transformers were $7 at Walmart. One of my favorite purchases ever. So cheap and the boys were SO EXCITED to see them.

The Great Wolf Lodge-- Carver's 5th Birthday Trip

For Carver's birthday this year we wanted to take him on a trip and get to really focus on spending time with him and doing something memorable together. The first weekend in February, Daniel and I dropped Carson off  with his Nana and Papa and we took Carver to the Great Wolf Lodge in Charlotte.

We had the BEST time. I think it is so important to spend time with the boys individually and this was a perfect occasion to start a tradition of a 5th birthday trip. Carver seemed to love every single moment of the weekend, though he mentioned multiple times that he wanted to go back and "bring his baby brother." So sweet.

Not having Carson there allowed me to get to really play with Carver too. I went on all of the water slides with him, and in the wave pool-- his favorite-- and in all of the splash areas. Then I took a break to take some pictures of Carver and Daniel playing together. It was a short trip, we only stayed one night, but it was perfect and a sweet memory. Carver is just so much fun and so joy-filled. We had a fabulous time.

I strongly recommend the Great Wolf Lodge. It is a really easy and incredibly fun family destination. I'm determined to get our entire family there together one day (grandparents, siblings, cousins-- the whole crew)!
