Asheville Trolley Tour

Taking a trolley tour of Asheville feels a little silly, since we live here. But the tour is really so good. It is informative and took us through areas that we usually aren't in. It is a fun way to see around the city. We stopped off for lunch at The Corner Kitchen in the Biltmore Village.

While we were at lunch our bill was paid by an anonymous person. It was such an incredibly kind and generous thing to do. But, what I really loved was that the boys were there to see it. To see that a stranger just offered a gesture of kindness, without wanting any recognition for it. What a sweet life lesson for them. I hope they grow up to be kind and thoughtful and generous too.

These donuts are my FAVORITE.

Seeing the Elk in Cherokee, NC

For years, Daniel has wanted to go and see the Elk in Cherokee. We finally made it happen, and I am so glad my mama was in town for the quick trip. We had success and saw several elk, quite close up! Then we stopped for dinner in Sylva before heading back home.

October (2021) Phone Dump

This science experiment started out like any other and ended with chaos. We were adding baking soda to vinegar and making something that made a mini-explosion. Then Carver tried it and his bag wasn't completely sealed and some of the solution went into Carson's eyes. He screamed and I went into full panic mode. I grabbed him and dragged him inside to rinse his eyes. He was crying and trying so hard to be calm. And through his tears he said, "Am I going to die?" So much fear and so much almost calm bravery. It was one of the most heartbreaking moments of my life. I reassured him that he would be just fine. And he was. It was over in a moment. And I'll never forget it.

Found this guy in the road and moved him off to safety.

Carver made Irish Soda Bread.

And so I threw together a quick charcuterie style lunch to go with his bread. This was a really fun day!

We headed out to the pumpkin patch.
