October Phone Dump

Ande and Graham come over every week or so to hang out. I love how they almost always pair off at some point-- Carver and Graham; Ande and Carson.

Felix is super friendly, but prefers being outside for most of the day (and some nights too). Every time he comes to snuggle I will literally sit until he decides on his own to move. I just love it when he sleeps on me.

We celebrated Daniel's birthday.

And Carson helped make the birthday dinner.

We had a play date with Odin. Bentley is apparently scared of him. But I love having him around :)

We don't have much of a view out of our bedroom door-- but I do like seeing the leaves peaking through the window. They cast red and yellow light into my room during the day.

I found this one morning on my way downstairs. Carson is an abnormally thoughtful child. He makes every single day just a little bit brighter.

Fall leaves are my favorite!

My constant sidekick. He is always close, rarely lets me out of his sight, has no sense of personal space and is spoiled past all points of reasonableness. He is like my third child and my best friend all rolled into a small, sometimes psychotic, package. He is not perfect, but he is perfect for me 💙

The Arboretum

In early October we headed to the North Carolina Arboretum. Even though it is right in Asheville, I had never really explored the arboretum before and I wanted to take the boys while the leaves were changing. Daniel, a bit begrudgingly, came also. The weather was perfect and it a was a good morning outing. After the arboretum we headed to McAlister's for lunch. The boys were SO excited-- they love it and it was our first time back since March.

We don't get to do many outings these days, so anytime I get to plan something different with the boys I am super excited about it.

September Phone Dump

We started playing board games after dinner and dominoes has been a big hit with the boys.

Julia and I took the boys (and Hercules!) to an apple orchard. It was a fun day!

Hercules found a mud puddle and fully enjoyed it :)

I started a fun new tradition this year-- a Fall Fest night! On the first day of fall we had a fall themed dinner, special dessert and a movie night. I love any reason to have a themed day.

Dessert was homemade caramel sauce, apples, apple cider donuts and ice cream. It was delicious!

Dinner was pot roast and veggies, broccolini, and rustic bread.

Felix!

Daniel took the boys on long hikes a couple of times this month. Carson really likes to hike...Carver, not so much. But they made it!

They're best friends :)

This popped up in my memories and I stared at it for a long time. Carson at 3 years old. He created a store in the pantry and had the best time. Now our days are mostly filled with video games-- I miss seeing them play like this.

An odd moment of companionship between these two. No idea why they settled on the stairs.
